Temujin shorts: Shaman of a hidden lands by Phobs Temujin shorts: Shaman of a hidden lands by Phobs
I decide to call such strips ''Temujin shorts'' cause I can't put them into main comic<3

And that's the first big comic with one of my favorite Temujin's associates - shaman Kokochu ''Teb-Tengri'', Kokochu the Eremit <333 Actually the whole strip is a one big strip of adoration for this guy x))))

Oh,and the boy with plait is not a random Bo'orchu, it is that Bo'orchu, another Temujin's comrade <3

Что интересно -ни разу в комиксе не мелькают половецкие, булгарские и русские города! Всё юрты, шатры...

Where can I find the main comic? :D
lophotibis Featured By Owner Jul 30, 2014
Very interesting theme. И, что самое забавное - это вполне себе было, что меня несколько удивило - откуда ты, дружище, сюжет взял?
Боорчи - the first of the chigiz's "nukers", good friend. Loyal nuker. Overseer of chingiz's army...
The art - it is good, really good. I like it. Thank thou! This is the air of the old steppe...

/// just a remark: Кокочы... Тэр Тэмүжин уулзсан үедээ Кокочы аль хэдийн настай байсан... Really. He was very old when Temuujin met him. I'm about the Kokochu.

Oh. My. Flipping. God. I know I've commented on this piece before, but I am just SO struck by how amazing it is again, I'm commenting again. I'm so impressed. If you could make this a print, or a series of prints, I would buy every one of them and hang them on my wall. Please never take this down. I love it so much I can hardly stand it.

Love the move from the black and white panels to the loose, richly coloured & slightly blurry spirit realm - looks it's never quite fixed/still~
I think I need to come back when I have better adjectives.

It's been a long time since i went on your gallery, I really like all your new mongol universe, thanks for sharing your work with us!!
I think you should read a really good book if you don't know it yet, in french the title is "Le loup mongol" (the mongol wolf?) by Homeric. If think about it because the hero of the story is naled boorchu and the story is a romanced version of the life of gengis khan. Thank yo again the the amazing drawing ^^!

It's a story of a Shaman saving a boy to put it basically. It's a part of Mongolian history

Omg, Phobs...! :iconawwwplz:
I didn't know you draw Mongolian stuff as well *___*
I've been into Mongols history for YEARS. I enjoy it, I admire it in every piece of their mystic customs.
Your comic is just epic. Exspecially thie vision-pannels. It's so epic as I always expected it to be *__*
Finally I found someone who knows Kokochu and Bo'orchu (I've always sounded as if I spoke chinese xDDD).

To be honest my favourite Temujin's comrade (and my favourite Mongol as well) was always Jamukha. He became a greatest rival of Temu but STILL he respected him greatly and even then he was warning him against enemy tribe (all the names fleed from my head by know, but few years ago I knew The Secret History of the Mongols by heart ). And Jamukha even died as a friend. Defeated but with silver poured into his eyeballs (it was probably a rumour cause silver was considerably too expensive, but I'd love to believe it was a truth )

Let Kök Tengri be with you! (omg all those mongolian words was written so differently in Polish x) )
Phobs Featured By Owner Sep 8, 2012  Professional Filmographer
aw, thank you
Well,I believe Jamukha died of broken spine) I like him too,one of my favorite Temujin's enemies) I don't treat in him as a comrade, but as former friend. Because their disagreements were too basic and deep.

This reallly is amazing. I have admired your art work for some time now, and I would be remiss if I didn't say that you have become a major influence in my own art, but your simplistic-beautiful style isn't why I pay that complement. I have no religion in my own mind, but to those who ask I tell them I'm a shaman. I have seen many people attempt to describe the journey, both in literary and visual expression, but all fell short, except you. Somehow you have put to paper what I see in those many other worlds...and though I am no longer taken by the experience itself, I am awestruck with your rendition of it here. From now on, when people ask me what it's like I'm going to show them this work of yours. I hope the depth of that complement comes across in mere words, because what I mean by it is a mix of awe, admiration, respect, and even gratitude in a way. I feel like I should say more...but I'm speechless.

That dream depiction is so out of this world. How did you do that Phobs? How? It boggles my mind. :O
And I also adore how you drew the characters. Everyone has their defining features in the face or in the clothing. I can totally differentiate them. It's so amazing! Grah! :shakefish:
